In 1995, Chuzzlewit began a cassette label called Low Voltage to release tapes of new recordings. Several Chuzzlewit cassettes were released and sold through mailorders like Mind the Gap and Le Biscuit Club. As Low Voltage became a more established cassette label, it released two well-received compilations, Trestle Set and Suspension Set. Click on the titles for full details of these tapes. Low Voltage also released full-length cassettes from two bands. I Hail Taxis were from northern England and played incredibly rough, lo-fi pop songs that were some of the most brilliant written during the 90s. Gulliver came from France and played music that sounded like Magnetic Fields songs performed on cheap Casios. Now, Low Voltage has been resurrected to release the new Chuzzlewit album, which will be distributed the same way the early cassettes were: from us directly, and through indie mailorders.
